Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of argumentation-based concept caricature activities on 8 th grade students' thoughts on the risks and benefits of nuclear energy.. The study was conducted with 60 eighth grade students in a secondary school in Adıyaman. The quasi-experimental model with pre-test post-test control group was used in the study. In the study, experimental (N = 30) and control (N = 30) groups were determined as neutral. The teaching of nuclear energy was carried out according to the current program in the control group while in the experimental group, concept cartoons were prepared based on scientific discussion. The study was completed in 6 weeks (12 hours). 'Nuclear Energy Scale (NES) olarak was used as data collection tool. The data obtained from the study were evaluated with SPSS statistical program. According to the results obtained from the research findings, a significant difference was found between the experimental group students using the concept cartoons activities based on scientific discussion and the control group students' risk and benefit thoughts related to the nuclear energy.
