Abstract (EN)

Rainfall that causes excessive floods and landslides in a short period of time resulting in large floods and landslides are associated with climate change in the world. Recently, the number and intensity of landslide events in the Eastern Black Sea Region have increased. These disasters, which can sometimes cause loss of life, usually occur in or around sloping terraced fields. In this study, it was aimed to determine the soil content and reasons of landslides in Arhavi district of Artvin province by using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). For this purpose, an area of 11500 m2 was scanned with 500 MHz and 1.2 GHz antennas in the tea area within the borders of Konaklı Village of Arhavi District of Artvin Province. In addition, the landslide risk situation of the area around the landslide area in the study area was examined and the level of the ground radar can be determined. In the study area, the GPR measurements performed before and after the landslide in 2017 have been a very important proof in achieving the purpose of study. In addition, the depth and grid structure of the tea roots were examined with ground radar images and their condition in the soil was observed.
