Abstract (EN)

Artova calcsilicate metamorphics crop out in the form of small patches, the size of which is up to 500 m2, among the fragmentary metamorphics cropping out between Artova and Çamlıbel. With the subsequent drilling studies, it was understood that these points showed continuing lateral continuity, and that the intense tectonism broke apart and separated by faults with small separations. Mineralogically, calc silicate metamorphics containing garnet (average 20%), epidote, wollastonite, diopside and calcite are also texturally different from regional metamorphites. It has been understood that the source rocks may be old mudstones and marl type rocks (calcschist, marble, etc. with their regional metamorphism) located in the regional metamorphics. No plutonic rocks that could provide high temperatures in contact metamorphism have been encountered in the field. However, granite or dioritic rocks that can form contact metamorphism crop out a few kilometers to the southwest. Considering the regional tectonism, it is understood that calcsilicate metamorphics are not autochthonous, they formed further west/southwest and drifted towards the northeast together with other metamorphics, reaching their current location. Mineral chemistry studies have determined that garnet is grossular and andradite, pyroxene is diopside, and plagioclase is albite. REE distributions of grossular, andradite, epidote and diopsides are compatible with each other and are compatible with contact metamorphic formations.
