Abstract (EN)

This thesis will analyze potential ways of integrating Augmented Reality as well as Virtual Reality into architecture itself along with its academic curriculum. With the advancements in computer graphics, these two forthcoming concepts gained prominence in the field as they offer life-like experiences. Inevitably, the future architecture will be shaped by the ever-evolving technology; and that raises the important notion of merging architectural talent with innovative technology. Overall, the purpose of this study is to investigate how applications of augmented and virtual realities will determine their natural place in architecture – both in teaching and practice. A collaborative study with a target group of architectural students - while utilizing augmented and virtual reality applications - later reiterating on feedback, will be the main method of this study. This thesis consists of four sections. The first section will encapsulate the problem statement, the scope, as well as the method of the study. The second section will cover a high-level explanation of augmented and virtual realities, their relative purpose in the field and any previous studies conducted on the subject. The third section will convey more details about the collaborative work with target group and analyze collected feedback. As for the last section, evaluation of acquired data and recommended ideas based on derived results will be rehearsed.
