Turkish foreign policy under military government (1960-1983)

Foreign policy events, their conceptions of foreign policy which they had applied, and their contacts with foreign countries of 27th May 1960, 12th March 1971 and 12th September 1980 military coup eras which are the most significant eras, which had been experienced, in the Republic of Turkey constitute main topic of this thesis study. The study includes introduction and three main sections. It has been briefly mentioned from presentation of the topic, aim of the study and references in the introduction. It has been tried to provide integrity by using records, news papers, and used books in the study. In the first section, internal and foreign policy of military regime in the period until 1961 general elections had been examined and it had been studied on relationships with foreign countries of military regime and events of that era. In the second section, understanding of foreign policy, practices and events of era of interim regime which had been founded by 12th March 1971 coup and lasted until 1973 had been examined. In the third section, what the government followed route on foreign policy, and on most important foreign events of era of government of the Turkish armed forces, which had begun by coup and lasted until 1983 elections on 12th September 1980, had been examined.
