Abstract (EN)
This qualitative research was conducted to examine the relationship between atypical employment and job insecurity, focusing specifically on motorcycle couriers. Atypical employment is a prevalent phenomenon affecting a significant number of workers and is increasingly being adopted to enhance labor market flexibility. However, it is well-known that atypical employment conditions raise concerns regarding job insecurity and the lack of social security protection for workers. In this study, motorcycle couriers were selected as a sample representing a group of workers engaged in atypical employment. Motorcycle couriers often work under precarious conditions, with low wages and job insecurity. Data was collected through semistructured interviews to understand the experiences of motorcycle couriers. The research explored the impact of atypical employment and job insecurity on the working conditions of motorcycle couriers, which lead to income uncertainty, occupational health and safety risks, and lack of social security. The study emphasizes the need for policymakers to address atypical employment conditions and ensure the protection of workers in terms of job security and social security.
