Abstract (EN)
Cancer is one of the major problems of diseases for people all over the world and is defined as a complex disease that occurs when the genes that control cell growth and division are damaged. Despite studies and advances in cancer medicine, it still maintains its importance. Prostate cancer, which is one of the types of cancer, maintains its 2nd place in deaths caused by malignant (malign) cells that begin to develop in the prostate tissue. Our bodies tend to resist the agents used in cancer treatments. As a result of this resistance, new drugs and new methods are needed. Escin (Aescin) is a main active ingredient of Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut tree). In the studies conducted, it has been shown that the composition of the body contains 5-6% protein, 30-40% starch, 5.5-7.7% fat, flavones, antioxidant substances, glycosides (aesculin, esculin), saponins (aescin, escin), vitamins B1, C and K. In this study, potential apoptotic, cytotoxic, antiproliferative effects and morphological changes caused by escin and newly synthesized escin loaded solid lipid nanoparticles on Du145 prostate cancer cells for the treatment of prostate cancer were investigated using confocal microscopy and flow cytometry methods.
