Abstract (EN)
It is important to find solutions to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions released into the atmosphere due to global targets. Today, different materials are used for CO2 adsorption. Among solid materials, carbon materials are preferred for CO2 adsorption due to their structural properties and high resistance to challenging environments. Carbon nanotubes are also used as filters and adsorbents due to their high filtering properties, and they have application areas with many composite materials due to their strength. In this thesis, it is aimed to determine the potential of carbon nanotubes produced from waste as carbon dioxide scavenger. In the thesis, after comparing the adsorption efficiency of waste CNTs and commercial CNTs, composite material was produced by using CNT with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and ethylenediamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA) to increase the adsorption efficiency. Adsorption studies were also carried out with the obtained materials and the results were compared. According to the results, the highest efficiency was achieved in the composite material prepared with PVA, and a new product alternative could be created for carbon dioxide scavengers, which has become very important today, with the commercial application of a product obtained from waste.
