Abstract (EN)

In this study, which aims to examine in depth the risk factors and occurrences of sports injuries in the short distance, middle distance, throws and jumps branches of athletics, the survey design, one of the quantitative research methods, was preferred. The population of the study consists of all athletes interested in athletics in our country; The sample consists of a total of 440 athletes who are interested in athletics and live in Ankara Ağrı Sakarya Van province. In this study, data was collected with Form questionnaire, which consists of a total of 27 questions. Descriptive statistical analyzes and correlation analysis were used in the IBM SPSS 26 Statistics program to analyze the data. According to the results obtained; The difference between the gender of the research participants and the number of days they train per week is due to the fact that the number of days they train 6 days a week is high; The difference between gender and total number of injuries is due to the high number of double injuries among male and female participants; The difference between gender and the ability to continue the competition after injury is due to the generally high number of male and female participants continuing the competition; The difference between gender and the number of days they stayed away from the competition after injury was due to the high number of 21+ days away from male and female participants; This is due to the high number of male and female participants who have a moderate level of knowledge between genders and their knowledge about injury prevention; This is due to the high number of male and female participants, whose average training period between genders is 3-4 hours; This is due to the high number of male and female participants who received cold treatment between genders and the first intervention applied after injury; It was determined that there was a significant relationship between gender and post-injury performance due to the high number of male and female participants who achieved their performance in a long time. In the light of these results, suggestions were made by the researcher.
