Abstract (EN)

Natural ventilation is defined as the replacement of indoor air with fresh air without the use of a mechanical device. Natural ventilation, which uses renewable energy resources to reduce the active climate load on the responsibility of mechanical systems and to increase energy conservation in buildings, is also an important part of energy-efficent passive systems. Natural ventilation, which can be carried out in the buildings by different methods and / or different building components, have been dealed in the atrial buildings in this thesis. With this study, it is aimed to reveal various structural and environmental factors affecting natural ventilation in atrial buildings and to investigate the changes of these factors according to climate regions and the reasons of these changes. In "General Information" section; purpose and scope of the study were explained, the topic was introduced with general titles. In "Work Done " section, information about the subject in the literature was explained, the factors affecting the natural ventilation in the atrium were determined and transformed into a chart, and the selected samples were analyzed with this chart. In "Findings and Deposits" section, atrial structure samples were evaluated and examined. In "Conclusions" section; various structural and environmental factors affecting natural ventilation, their similarities and differences according to climatic reasons were given together with their causes in the case of 16 atrial structures selected from cold, temperate, hot-dry and hot-humid climate regions.
