Edition Critical of Ruhu'ş-Şurûh Âla'l-Maksûd fi't-Tasrîf for Ayshî Mehmed Efendi

The aim of this present work is to bring out the verse of the work of Ruhu'ş-Shurûh'al'l-Maksudfi't-Tasrîf, the work of Ayşî Mehmed Efendi, the Ottoman scholar. Ayşî Mehmed Efendi (d. 1016/1607), one of the Ottoman scholars, was born in the 10th century in the district of Tire in the province of Izmir. He made a profession in famous medieval madrasah of the Ottoman Empire; he has written works in the field of ulûm-u Islamic and language literature. Due to the fact that the annotate work on al-Maksudfi's Sarf is concise and comprehensive, which is attributed to Abu Hanife Numan b. Sabit, it preserved the importance among Arabic writing knowledge book. In the introduction to our study, brief information was given about Arabic writing knowledge and preaching. In the first chapter, Abu Hanifa Numan b. Sabit's life, works, and the work of al-Maksûdfi's named Sarf, and the commentaries made on this work were briefly given. The life, works of Ali Aishi Mehmed Efendi and information about the importance of the work named Ruhu'ş-Shurûh 'ale'l-Maksûdfi't- Tasrîf was given. In the second chapter, the copies of the work, we are able to reach, have been introduced and the criteria for the selection of the copy have been specified. In the third chapter, the critique of the edition of the work Ruhu'ş-Shuruh 'ale'l-Maksûdfi't-Tasrîf was made. Key words: Ayşî Mehmed Efendi, el-Maksûd, Rûhuş-Şurûh, Tirevî.
