Abstract (EN)

This study includes the Babadağ district on the slopes of Babadağ overlooking the Büyük Menderes River, which is located on the slopes and ridge, valley and slopes between the two valleys. The district of Babadağ, known as a disaster area by public institutions since 1941, has a defective topography and has interesting features in terms of geomorphological, lithological and tectonic biogeography. Scientific studies related to the study area have been compiled and field observations have been made. By using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) effectively, physical geography characteristics of the field according to the research methods of geography science and the effects of these characteristics on landslide disaster, as well as the effects of disaster on the development of the region have been tried to be explained. For the purpose of the study, firstly landslide inventory was prepared. Afterwards, the factors that cause landslides were investigated in situ and the data were used for landslide susceptibility analysis. As a result, the landslide susceptibility analysis of Babadağ district was made by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHS). In addition, the effects of slope and elevation on land use and land capability classes are discussed. Finally, it is stated that the district can be taken into the tourism potential and the scope of the Calm City / Cittaslow.
