Abstract (EN)

Chronogram was born in Persian Literature and from there it was processed and developed in centuries by influincing Turkish Literature. The area researcher's common view is, chronogram tradition's best and the most competent examples were given in Turkish Literature. Bagdatli Rûhî is one of the significant representative of chronogram tradition. He owns only one work and in his Divan, he has 94 historical poems. Rûhî had written his historical works in many subjects by using different chronogram forms. In our study, Bagdatli Rûhî's poetry was examinated by their contents and forms. In the first chapter of the study, a general information about chronogram and date determinitation was given and then the chronogram subject was examinated in the Turkish Literature. Afterwards, the life of Bagdatli Rûhî and his literal identity has been told. In the main part of the study, date determinitation of Rûhî was considerated under the headlines put by Content and Form. In the chapter which was examinated the content, at first the chronogram of dates were done. Afterwards, for confirming the dates which were come out, datas were gathered from sources about the facts. These gathered datas were offered by comparising the learnt datas from the poetry. Date determinitation, is a manifestation for connection of our classical poetry with our social lives. By this reason, the other couplet which they were not historical has also been examinated by details for to exposure of relevance with the social life. In the chapter that examinated by formal, the poems were considerated by the angles of their prosody, rhyme, verse forms and chronogram sorts.
