Statistical analysis of the baklava sector employees regarding occupational health and safety awareness

Each day; One of the most important sectors that have to develop and renew itself is the food sector due to compliance with technological developments, production in accordance with legal changes and differences in customer expectations. In this study, the importance of food production since no studies and researches have been conducted in the same sector before, this study included the employees of the baklava sector in Gaziantep.In this study, 160 employees working in 6 different workplaces in Gaziantep province; working conditions, problems they face and so on. It is aimed to determine the opinions and qualification levels of occupational health and safety awareness. On the basis of cultural, environmental and other determinative situations, the questions were prepared in accordance with the Likert scale. A questionnaire consisting of 15 questions was applied to the employees in order to determine their knowledge levels, demographic structure, perspectives and expectations about ISG. Answers; SPSS.21 program was used as a statistical data analysis. As a result of the research, it was observed that female employees were more aware of the risk level of the job than male workers. In addition, the level of interest of employees aged 35 and over to the degree of risk, the level of participation in the opinion that work efficiency and quality in the workplace is generally of higher priority than job security, views that management is more guilty in occupational accidents, and to warn colleagues at unsafe work points It is seen that the request levels are higher. In the study, the level of participation of employees whose income status is higher than TL 2001 to the opinions that each employee is responsible for the accident prevention point, the level of participation in the opinion that work efficiency and quality in the workplace is generally higher than occupational safety and that the management of work accidents are more guilty It has been found that the participation fee to the opinions is higher than the employees with less than 2001 TL. Another result obtained in the study is that the level of asking employees to warn their colleagues at unsafe working points is higher than those with less than 1 year of sectoral experience. Finally, the results obtained from employees who do not receive occupational health training, "My job (accident) risk degree is a bit of interest to me" and ''Management is the most guilty party of an injured employee'' is the level of participation in the opinion of occupational health related training It is seen that the higher level.The place and importance of OHS trainings as an administrative measure and collective protection measures for the establishment and formation of workplace and working ISG cultures are understood. It is believed that the results of this study may be the source of further studies in the baklava and similar sectors.
