Abstract (EN)

In this study a series of copper based composite materials having in therange of 2.4.6.8.10 % B4C in weight were produced by using powder metallurgy technique. Density, hardness and porosity % of hose composite materials and bronze materials were determined. Bronze materials were produced by using powder metallurgy technique and they wereused as a comparisons material for developed B4C composites. Further, tribological properties of composites, bronze and cast bronze were determined by using a pin-on disc type wear testing machine in thelaboratory. Inadditiontothat, wearsurfaces of samples tested in wear test were examined by scanning electron microscopy. Attend of this study, it was found that density of composite materials decreased and porosity % of materials increased with increasing of B4C content in the materials. However, hardness and wear resistance of composite materials increased with increasing of B4C content in the composite materials. It was also found that powder compacting pressure and sintering time were effective parameters on the hardness, density and wear resistance of composite materials. Finally, it was shown that copper based composite materials having low content of B4C can be substituted for conventional cast bronze used in plain bearing applications.
