Abstract (EN)

Honeycomb sandwich structures are of great importance in composite materials. Honeycomb sandwich composite materials have mechanical properties such as high strength, durability, lightness and energy absorption. Honeycomb sandwich composite materials are frequently preferred in construction, automotive, aerospace and space applications. Due to its vital importance in the application areas, the strength, mechanical behavior and properties of honeycomb sandwich composites must be determined. It is planned to determine the mechanical behavior of honeycomb sandwich composite materials with carbon fiber reinforced plates. Carbon fiber reinforced composite materials play an important role in the aviation and defense industries. Therefore, in order to determine the properties of carbon fiber reinforced honeycomb sandwich composite materials, many static and mechanical tests are carried out such as pulling, pressing, impact, bending and fatigue. The aim is to identify, develop and increase the general properties of honeycomb sandwich composite materials. In this study, the compression behavior of carbon fiber reinforced honeycomb sandwich composite materials after impact testing was investigated experimentally. Al 3003 Aluminum alloy honeycomb cells and samples with carbon fiber surface materials were used in the study. The connection between the surface materials and the cells was provided by 3M Scotch-Weld brand DP 460 epoxy based adhesive. The length and width of all test specimens were prepared in the dimensions of 80 mm x 80 mm. Honeycomb is prepared in three different cell heights of 10 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm. Carbon fiber surface materials (bottom and top) are prepared in 1mm thickness. Experimental samples are produced in the given standards. After the test samples were produced, low speed impact test, angled low speed impact, compression test, compression tests after impact test were applied and some samples were left undamaged. Impact experiments were done with the Instron Dynatup 9250 impact tester. With the Instron Dynatup 9250 tester, weight reduction tests were performed on the samples in three different low speed 2.5 joules, 5 joules and 7.5 joules impact energy parameters. Low speed impact tests were applied to the test samples at three different angles of impact at 0°, 15 ° and 30 °. A special support device has been produced to perform weight reduction impact tests in angular impacts. Samples pre-damaged with impact test and undamaged samples were subjected to compression testing to examine the impact of impact predamage on the impact strength and mechanical behavior. Compression tests With the Shimadzu Universal tester, a 250 kN load cell was applied and the feed rate was selected at 1 mm / min. As a result of impact and compression tests, carbon fiber reinforced honeycomb sandwich composite materials or resistance changes, mechanical behaviors, undamaged and damaged samples were observed and experimentally examined. Evaluations regarding the graphics, photographs and tables resulting from the experiments carried out in the study were made. All studies were experimentally applied and evaluated.
