Barriers to transportation measures due to climate change in Antalya

Key barriers include deficient infrastructure, exacerbated by rapid urbanization and population growth, inadequate funding and resource allocation, regulatory and policy gaps, and insufficient public awareness and community engagement. The challenges are compounded by the unique geographic and demographic characteristics of Antalya, amplifying the urgency of devising tailored, context-specific solutions. By dissecting the barriers and offering actionable insights, the study endeavors to enrich the discourse on climate change adaptation and mitigation in transportation systems, in Antalya and in analogous coastal regions worldwide. The findings underscore the imperative for holistic, interdisciplinary approaches that prioritize resilience, sustainability, and equity in transportation planning and policy formulation. Through informed decisionmaking and collaborative action, Antalya and other vulnerable regions can navigate the complexities of climate-induced transportation challenges and pave the way for a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.
