Determining of the success of stone pine (Pinus pinea L.) afforestations in Bartın region

Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine Stone pine (Pinus pinea L.) afforestation in Bartın region (Centrum, Çakraz and Arıt). Firstly, physiographic conditions of afforestation areas were investigated. Later, growth performances of Stone pine trees was determined. In this context height and diameter were measured of trees and survival percentage was determined all research area. Furthermore, growth differences were investigated among afforestation areas. In this reason, T test was applied to measured data. According to T test results; there are statistical differences of growth performances Stone pine plantations at 7 and 11 age. On the other hand, statistical differences were not determined afforestation areas at 23 and 25 age.According to the all data, success of Stone pine afforestation is very high in the Bartın region. In this regard, should be made new Stone pine afforestation in the suitable site conditions. Because, Stone pine afforestations are important respect to erosion control and new economic incomes resources of peasantries in the Bartın region.
