Abstract (EN)

What attracts man to tourism is sightseeing, entertainment and enlightenment as well as sense of wonder.The wars the Repuclic of Turkey was involved, which were a turning point for us, and the areas they took place arouse curiosity in man. This, as a sub-branch of tourism, has a considerable importance. The Chief Commander Historic National Park, which is under protection in national parks category, consists of areas in which the Grand Offence and the Chief Commander offence took place. Therefore, it has a great deal of historical value. In addition to this, it has a considerable tourism potential as regards the importance of the war. These areas are very much attractive for those who are curious about battles and battle fields.In this study, the importance of The Historic National Chief Commander Park in battle tourism has been pointed out. The aim of this study is to increase the touristic potential of the national park offering a better definition of it. For this reason, battle tourism, the place of national parks in tourism, the development period of Chief Commander Historic National Park and its divisions have been mentioned. To sum up, projects that should be carried out to accelerate the touristic potential of the park has been offered.
