The reasons and results of emigration in Bayat town

Migration is an old event as the history of human being. This migration is a reality that causes some changes in the lives of society and in the area of migration and it also has some effects as big as that can cause an age opens and closes. In other words, the reasons and results of migration are some points that must be examined in terms of cultere, society, economy, politics, law and management. Although the main reasons of the migration are economical, the effects appear out as social, economical, political, cultural and spatial. So the examination of reasons and results of migration is important in terms of geography. In this study, we tried to determine the reasons and results of emigration from Bayat which was announced as a town in 1987. We tried to focus on the effects especially in Bayat Where this emigration intensifies in some terms. We found that the main reason of the emigration from Bayat is the deficiency of economical factors in Bayat. We investigated the link between this deficiency and the geographical factors in Bayat. Furthermare, we determined that the migration occured towards abroad affected with the migration waves in Emirdağ as Bayat is formerly a district of Emirdağ. We found that the migration in the town turned towards the country after the years of 1985. At the end of migration, it emerget that emigrants especially who went to abroad kept their unity and solidarity there. Allhough the migration seems to be positive at first, it is defined that migration has some effects of undevelopment of the town though it has a good location. We found that the emigration to Bayat town is une nough in terms of investment and it affects the development of the town in a negative way and the migration to abroad causes cultural degeneration.Key words: Bayat, population, migration, geographical factors and economic faktors.
