Abstract (EN)

The interest and the consuming rate of the wild fruits are increasing rapidly in the last years. One of the most important members of wild fruits is Berberis. Berberis is accepted in the valuable fruits due to its good antioxidant activity and high functional component content. In this study, some physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, total phenolic content, mineral content and phenolic profiles of B.vulgaris L. (Kızamık) and B.crataegina DC. (Karamuk), grew naturally in Bayburt, are analyzed. In this concept a general assessment is made on some properties of the samples in the light of the parallel studies exist in the literature. Than two Berberis types are compared among each other.
