Abstract (EN)
Bisphenol A is the most studied compound due to its adverse effects on human health and is one of the most widely used products in food contact materials worldwide. Within the scope of this study, a new hydrophobic monolithic nanocolumn based on naphthalene-2-ylmethyl methacrylate (3, NMC) was prepared and characterized for the determination of bisphenol A (BPA) in honey by reverse phase nano-LC system. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) of BPA were determined to be 0.02µg/L and 0.58µg/L, respectively, by reverse phase nano-LC method using a prepared monolithic column. Relative standard deviation (%RSD) in intra-day and inter-day analyzes was determined as 2.1% and 1.8%, respectively. The developed method was applied to the analysis of thirteen commercial honey samples. BPA was detected between 2.5±0.27 µg/L and 12.47±0.84 µg/L in five honey samples. The proposed method is simple, rapid and sensitive and it has been shown that it can be used to monitor BPA contamination in honey.
