Synthesis of some heterocyclic compounds and investigation of their usage as microbiocide in paper industry

In this study, 1,2,4-triazole-3-on (154) was synthesized starting from hydrazynecarboxylate, then, 154 was converted to acetate ester (155) and hydrazide (156), respectively. Hydrazides converted to carbo(thio)amides (160, 161, 176, 181, 182, 191) by the treatment with izo(thio)cyanates. The basic treatment of carbo(thio)amide derivatives afforded mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles. The treatment of mercapto triazoles (183 and 184) with several alkyl halides produced the corresponding S-alkyl derivatives. Mannich bases (170, 195-207), was obtained from the reaction of the corresponding compounds with several amines. The acidic treatment of carbothioamides (181, 182) produced the corresponding 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives (185, 186). The condensation of carbo(thio)amides (160, 161, 181, 182, 191) with 4-chloro phenacyl bromide resulted in the formation of the corresponding 1,3-thia(oxa)zoles. The reaction of karbo(thio)amides with ethyl bromoacetate led to the formation of oxa(thia)zolidine derivatives. Schiff bases were obtained from the reaction of the corresponding hydrazides with aromatic aldehydes. The reaction of hydrazide, 156 with benzene sulfonyl chloride afforded of sulfonylamide derivative (159).The aminotriazole (169) was obtained starting from compound 156 via the formation of 1,3-oxadiazole. The structures of the obtained compounds were confirmed by on the basis of spectroscopic methods, compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activities. Synthesized compounds was investigated their usage as microbiocide in paper industry. 33 of them were found to possess good-moderate activities.
