Abstract (EN)
Mint is a plant with high economic value. Essential oils obtained by distillation from the leaves of the mint plant have refreshing and invigorating properties. 15 different Mentha spp. taxon distribution in Türkiye. Each plant species differs from other species in terms of morphology. The same is true for the chemical components they contain. Even the same species may have different chemical components in different ecological habitats. Height, aspect, bedrock, amount of water, light intensity, vegetation type are the main factors that affect the chemical components of the plant. At the same time, seasonal and day-to-day harvest time also create differences in the amount and quality of essential oils. In this study, the chemical contents of essential oils of M. pulegium L., M. aquatica L., M. x piperita L., M. longifolia L. plant taxa distributed in Kastamonu province were investigated by GC-MS method. In this study, it was aimed to determine the chemical components of essential oils of Mentha taxa distributed in Kastamonu conditions.
