Abstract (EN)
This research aims to reveal the relationship between the professional attitudes of pre-service teachers and their teaching and learning behaviours by considering gender, class, sports branch, and parental education status which are thought to affect the attitudes towards the profession. The study group consisted of a total of 370 pre-service physical education teachers ( age = 21.243 ± 2.068), with 152 women (41%) and 218 men (59%) who were enrolled in Physical Education and Sports Teaching programs at different universities in the 2017-2018 academic year. As data collection tools, personal information form, Attitude Scale for the Profession of Physical Education, and Teaching and Learning Conceptions Scale were used. In relation to the comparison of professional attitudes and teaching-learning conceptions of pre-service physical education teachers in terms of gender and sports branch variable, t-test was used in independent groups to determine the differences in arithmetic average. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique was used in relation to the comparison of professional attitudes and teaching-learning conceptions of pre-service physical education teachers in terms of class and parental education status. Correlation technique was used in order to determine the level and course of the relationship between pre-service physical education teachers' professional attitudes and their teaching-learning conceptions. As a result of the study, it was observed that there is a significant difference in the attitudes of pre-service teachers towards the teaching profession based on the gender variable. The analysis, which is conducted to compare the professional attitudes of pre-service physical education teachers with their mother's educational status, also revealed a significant difference in terms love of profession and attitude.
