Study into vocational satisfaction and recreational habits of physical education teachers

The purpose of this study is to present the level of vocational satisfaction and recreational habits of PE teachers. In this study the participants' sex, marital status, age, income statue, term of office, and place of duty and the level of their vocational satisfaction and recreational habits for variables have all been studied. Target population of the study includes 522 pe teachers working in public schools in the centre, towns and villages of Trabzon in 2015-2016 school year; however, research samples involve 310 pe teachers. The findings about the levels of vocational satisfaction and recreational habits of pe teachers have been obtained through a survey and in the research have'Personal Information Form', Scale of Vocational Satisfaction and Recreation' been used as data collection tool. In the evaluation of the survey findings, SPSS 22.0 package; frequency arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, single direction variance analysis (ANOVA), and statisticals methods of Post hoc TUKEY, Post hoc LSD and Pearson Correlation have been used.As a result of research findings, a significant difference hasn't been seen in recreational habits of participants for their sex, age, place of duty variables, whereas there has been an important difference in behavioral sub-dimension of their marital status variable and in recreation habits of unmarried ones, rather than married pe teachers, and in behavioral sub-dimension of their income statues and their terms of office. In addition to this, in the study of vocational satisfaction of pe teachers it has been seen that while there is no significant difference in the statue of their sex and income, a good difference has been noticed in sub-dimension of development opportunity in age and marital status variables and also in sub-dimension of both quality convenience and devolopment opportunity in term of office and place of duty variables
