Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate preservice physical education and sports teachers' beliefs towards physical education and sports teaching profession who study at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Hitit University. The research is in the correlational survey model and the data obtained were collected by using the "Belief Scale for the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Profession" and personal information form. The scale is of 7-point Likert type. It consists of twelve items and two sub-dimensions: "sense of calling" and "value of physical education and sports". 211 students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Education, who studied at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Hitit University in the 2019-2020 academic year, participated in the research. As a result, while there is a statistically significant difference between the belief levels of physical education and sports teacher candidates in terms of gender, class level variables; in other variables (academic success, place of residence for the longest time, income, parents 'education level, parents' employment status, status of being a licensed athlete and sport branch) there is no difference between professional belief levels.
