Investigation of physical education and sports teachers' awareness of pedagogical problems (Kırşehir province example)

The aim of this research is to determine the awareness levels of physical education and sports teachers working in Kırşehir province regarding pedagogical problems and to examine whether this awareness differs according to demographic variables. The sample of the quantitative survey model consists of 137 teachers selected using the convenience sampling method. The "Physical Education Teachers' Awareness Levels Regarding Pedagogical Problems Scale" was used to collect data; descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA techniques were used in the analyses. The research findings show that the general pedagogical awareness of the teachers is at a moderate level. In terms of dimensions; while awareness was high in the areas of "psychological situations" and "lesson perception," awareness was found to be low in the dimension of "students' prejudices and physical barriers." In terms of demographics; it was determined that male teachers had higher awareness regarding adolescence, and variables such as graduation branch and school type created significant differences in the level of awareness. In conclusion; It is believed that physical education teachers should be supported, especially regarding student disabilities and prejudices, and that the findings can form the basis for professional development programs and training strategies.
