Examining different variable ways of the perceptions that related to the mobbing actions of physical education and sports teachers (example of Erzurum)

This study aimed to examine the perceptions of physical education and sports teachers serving in central districts of Erzurum on intimidation (mobbing) actions in terms of different variables. Research universe was constituted by 204 individuals selected among 265 physical education and sports teachers serving in the central districts of Erzurum in 2015-2016 academic year based on principle of voluntariness with random sampling method. Data collection tool used in the study consists of two parts. In the first part, personal information form was used to evaluate the demographic variables of the participants. In the second part; "Intimidation Scale for Teachers" (ÖYYÖ) Questionnaire developed by Tanhan and Çam (2011) and consisting of 5 different sub-dimensions and 29 questions was used in order to determine the Perceptions of Physical Education and Sports Teachers on Intimidation (Mobbing) Actions, Independent Sample T Test and Oneway ANOVA were used for the analyses of the data. As claimed by the findings, it was determined that the perceptions of intimidation actions differ according to the genders, education levels and seniorities of the teachers. Male teachers are found to be exposed to more of intimidation than female teachers. MSc-PhD teachers are found to be exposed to more of intimidation than the others. Teachers who have seniority of 2-8 years are found to be exposed to intimidation actions more. Key Words: Intimidation, Mobbing, Perception, Physical Education and Sports Teacher
