Physical education and sport antropometric and somatotype structure investigation of high school students

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate anthropometric and somatotype characteristics of male students who educated in the first class of Department of Physical Education and Sports Teachering (DPEST), the Department of Sport Management (DSM) and the Department of Coaching Education (DCE) at Blacksea Technical University Physical Education and Sport High School.This study within the scope of descriptive research, survey method was used. The research group which is unlikely for the sampling technique in the sup-group, is generated based on sampling the appropriate stuation. The measurements for this research were taken from a total of 64 male student volunteers who participated; they are 27 students from DPEST, 20 students from DSM, 17 students from DCE particapated in this investigation. It was determined that the average age was 20,52 ± 0,55 years, the average body weight was 71,028 ± 1,84 kg and the avearage body height was 174,38 ± 1,39 cm. for students. The somatotype characteristics of students were determined in accordance with the techniques prescribed by the International Biological Programme (IBP) and the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) and total 11 anthoprometric measurments as body weight, body height, knee and elbow circumference (width), loose biceps, calf circumference (width), triceps, biceps, subscapular, suprailiac and calf skinfold thickness were measured. Somatotype characteristics were determined with the Heath-Carter analysis method. The statistical analysis of the measurements was calculated at SPSS 15.0 package program with 95% Confidence Interval for mean (p<0.05). The ANOVA test was used to determine the measurement differences between departments of students. The differences amongst the departments and measurements was determined with the SCHEFFE test. Analyze results showed that there were only significiantly difference between the Department of Coaching Education (DCE) students and the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teachering (DPEST) students for calf circumference (width) (p<0.05) and this difference was in favor of the Department of Coaching Education (DCE) students.
