Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the resilience levels and cognitive flexibility levels of some physically disabled athletes within the scope of some variables and to investigate the relationship between two characteristics within the framework of this sample group. Relational model designed on the working group of the research, 2018-2019 season in some branches (Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Wheelchair Fencing) actively serving in 17 female 94 males with the average age in the different provinces 34.19 of Turkey in total, there are 111 physically disabled athletes. The questionnaire form which is formed to test the research hypotheses consists of three parts. In the first part, personal information form with demographic information of the participants, Cognitive Flexibility Scale in the second part and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) in the last part are included. In order to determine the relationship between variables as well as descriptive statistics, pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the data. Independent groups t-test analysis was used to determine significant differences. While the results of the study showed that the gender of the participants resulted in a significant difference in cognitive flexibility levels, this difference could not be determined in resilience levels. Within the scope of marital status and obstacle time variables, it was determined that the level of cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience of disabled athletes were similar. The results, which were evaluated within the scope of whether the participants were national athletes, showed that there were significant differences between the two groups at both the cognitive flexibility level and the resilience level. Correlation results of the age and age of the athletes and the relationship between the two features showed that age and sport age variables were not significantly correlated with cognitive flexibility and resilience, but they showed that these two features had a positive relationship with each other. The results of this study in which the physically disabled athletes were determined to determine the levels of cognitive flexibility and their psychological resilience within the context of some variables, some demographic characteristics of the athletes did not affect cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience levels but showed that being a national athlete was an effective variable in these two characteristics of the participants. The results of the study revealed that the benefit of sports to healthy individuals showed the same result on disabled individuals.
