Abstract (EN)

In this research, the relationship among psychological well-being and psychological resilience levels and online game addiction in individuals in emerging adulthood was examined. The research study sample consisted of individuals between the ages of 18-25, which is referred to as emerging adulthood. The data of the research were obtained from 425 participants, 162 female and 263 male, who were reached via the internet. "Personal Information Form", "PERMA scale", "Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults" and "Game Addiction Scale" were used as data collection tools. The validity and reliability studies of the scales used in the research were carried out and it was concluded that they were suitable for the research. In the analysis of the research data, IBM SPSS 25.0 package programme was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained from the research. Independent sample t test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and regression analysis methods were used to analyse the data. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that psychological well-being, psychological resilience and online game addiction were found to differ according to gender, age, income and educational status. In addition, it was found that psychological well-being and psychological resilience were negatively related to online game addiction, and there was a positive and significant relationship between all sub-dimensions of psychological well-being except negative emotions and psychological resilience. Finally, when the predictive power of psychological resilience and psychological well-being in online game addiction was considered, it was concluded that the structural style and social resources sub-dimensions of psychological resilience and the health sub-dimension of psychological well-being explained 55.1% of the total score of online game addiction.
