It is in the records that Jean Charles de Besse was born in 1765. He is a person who travels the Turkish world and geography, knows ethnic elements and cultures well, and knows their language well. Besse wrote Abrégé de la Grammaire Turque on January 5, 1829. The full title of the work is Abrégé de la Grammaire Turque Contenant Outre le Principe de Cette Langue, des Idiotismes, des Discours Familiers et un Petit Vocabulaire en Français, Turc et Hongrois. It is a Turkish grammar book with explanations in French and Hungarian. Besse stated in the foreword of the book that he aims to give the first concepts of Turkish to those who want to learn the principles of the Turkish language. The book consists of 14 chapters and sub-chapters connected to these chapters. After the 14th chapter, there was a vocabulary. The transcription system used by Besse in his work is not much different from the system commonly used to meet the sounds of Turkish in Europe at that time.
