Abstract (EN)
In this study, the usability of basalt in the construction of concrete road pavement was investigated. In the study, four different types of rigid pavement concretes were produced, including basalt concrete not containing steel fiber, basalt concrete containing steel fiber, basalt powder concrete not containing steel fiber and basalt powder concrete containing steel fiber. In this study, water/binder ratio in concrete production was taken as 0.44. In the production of basalt powder concrete containing steel fiber, basalt with a grain diameter of 0.1–1.0 mm was used as aggregate. Steel fibers with a diameter of 0.70 mm and length of 35 mm were added to the concrete mixture. 28 days of air curing, 28 days and 20±5°C of water curing and combined curing (3 days and 20±5°C of water curing + 2 days and 200±5°C of drying oven curing) were carried out on all the types of concrete extracted from the molds. After air curing, standard water curing and combined curing, compression tests of the same types of cube concrete samples were carried out. At 28 days of air curing, the compressive strength was 46.7 MPa for basalt powder concrete without steel fiber. At 28 days and 20±5°C of water curing, the compressive strength was 59.8 MPa for basalt powder concrete without steel fiber. At combined curing (3 days and 20±5 ° C of water curing + 2 days and 200±5 ° C of drying oven curing), the compressive strength was 80.7 MPa for basalt powder concrete without steel fiber. At 28 days of air curing, the compressive strength was 50.4 MPa for basalt powder concrete containing steel fiber. At 28 days and 20±5°C of water curing, the compressive strength was 66.2 MPa for basalt powder concrete containing steel fiber. At combined curing (3 days and 20±5 ° C of water curing + 2 days and 200±5 ° C of drying oven curing), the compressive strength was 88.8 MPa for basalt powder concrete containing steel fiber. As a result of the study, it was seen that the type of curing that gives the highest compressive strength is combined curing. The results of the study showed that basalt powder concrete can be used in concrete road pavement construction.
