Abstract (EN)
Pesticides are toxic and biocidal substances and are an important pollutant in terms of the environment. Uncontrolled and excessive use of pesticides, their storage, mistakes made during their disposal lead to environmental pollution. Even at low concentrations, they can be transported from application areas and can cause serious environmental problems by passing into soil air and water environments. In the study, the bio-treatment of dicuate dibromide (DD) herbicide, which is a type of pesticide used to combat foreign and unwanted weeds from aqueous solution, and after remediation the toxicity of the media was investigated. The Phanerochaete chrysosporium fungus, a white rot fungus species, was used for the bio-treatment of diquat dibromide. samples were taken from medias prepared at concentrations of 10, 20 and 50 ppm for periods of 1, 3, 5 and 7 days, chemical oxygen demand, total organic carbon and mortality values were examined in these medias. In the mortality experiment, Daphnia magna indicator creature, which is sensitive to all kinds of chemical changes in the aquatic environment, was used. In the mortality experiment, mortality rates of D.magna individuals in prepared experimental medias were examined at 24, 48 and 72 hour periods. As a result of the study, it was observed that the fungus P. chrysosporium was effective in the bioremediation of diquate dibromide from aqueous solutions and in the toxicity experiment applied after removal, P. chrysosporium could treat efficiently without turning the herbicide diquat dibromide into more toxic products.
