Abstract (EN)

Determination of the Efficacy of Phanerochaete chrysosporium (ME446) in the Treatment of Leachate from Bingöl Solid Waste Storage Area Since leachate formed in solid waste storage areas contain pollutants and nitrites originating from the waste compound, they can reach underground and surface waters through the soil and can convey a high amount of pollution load to the area they reach. In this study in which an incubation was carried out by P. chrysosporium in 4 different static liquids containing leachate, on the 5th, 10th and 20th days; pH, conductivity, changes in total phosphate values as well as COD (Chemical oxygen demand) reduction in the development environments at the end of the 20th day, removal percentage of metal (Fe2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ and Cu2+) and total dry micelle weights were determined. At the end of the 20th day of incubation 84% Mn2+ and Zn2+ removal were achieved especially through the fungus we use in the X application environment. And at the end of the 20th day in the same X application environment, a 90.88% reduction in COD was also obtained. In the same way in other application groups some improvements have been identified both in terms of metal removal and declining of COD. In conclusion, findings of this study indicate the fact that white rot fungus P. chrysosporium can be used as an alternative biological source in the treatment of leachate in all application groups containing leachate not only in terms of its metal removal efficiency but also COD reduction capacity.
