In this study, we have tried to demonstrate the life, teaching philosophy and works of Selim Sırrı TARCAN, who lived between the years 1874 and 1957 and who is one of the most important pedagogues and educational administrators that Turkey has ever had. Besides, for pedagogues and educational administrators, we have translated his work ?İptidai Muallimlerine Öğütlerim (Advice to Primary School Teachers)? where he wrote his advice, memories and anecdotes that we think very important to today?s pedagogues and educational administrators. This book can be considered as a guide and pedagogical book for pedagogues and educational administrators. In this book I have translated, you are going to realize that many of the problems we are facing in our schools today also existed decades ago and you are going to see some suggestions as solutions. Furthermore, why haven?t been able to have our students love and learn Geography, History or Math? What can we do to stop disciplinary action in our schools? You are going to find answers to these questions. We have also provided you with a guide for an ideal teacher who adores his job, who is open to continuous professional development, who can be happy and can find peace among his students, who can treat his students with the love of a father and mother and who is needed by his colleagues for his successful work and effort.
