Abstract (EN)
This thesis focuses on a medium-sized pharmaceutical factory located in Ankara, Turkey, which aims to achieve growth and has been working to incorporate lean thinking and lean production practices. The main objective of the study is to understand the extent to which lean production is implemented in the factory and to evaluate the benefits it brings. The pharmaceutical factory where the research is conducted operates in an industry characterized by intense competition and complex regulations. The pharmaceutical factory under investigation operates in a highly competitive and heavily regulated industry. The factory faces continuous increasing demands and must maintain customer satisfaction and quality standards. Implementing lean production can help the factory cope with these challenges and achieve operational excellence. The thesis explains the principles and methods of lean production and emphasizes its core concepts. Data collection is conducted through surveys, and the gathered data is analyzed using statistical methods to assess the impact of lean production practices on the factory's performance. The results increase the efficiency of lean production in the pharmaceutical factory, reduce waste, and improve quality. The implementation of lean production leads to lower production costs, faster delivery times, and fewer errors in production processes. This thesis highlights the importance of lean production in the pharmaceutical industry and encourages its effective use as a powerful tool for enhancing efficiency and quality in complex manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical factories. Proper implementation of lean production is crucial in gaining a competitive advantage, and this thesis recommends the lean production approach as a significant step towards achieving this goal.
