Effectiveness of home care practice as a social policy tool: The case of Kırklareli

In this study, it is aimed to determine how the household members who provide care to disabled people are affected physically, socially, emotionally and financially during the caregiving process. In this direction, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted by reaching the caregivers of 12 disabled individuals registered in Kırklareli Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation. The information obtained as a result of the interview with the participants was grouped and interpreted according to their themes. As a result of the research findings; it has been revealed whether the physical, social, emotional and financial burden levels that affect the quality of life of the household member providing care to the disabled person are suitable for the burden levels of ordinary individuals. It is possible to state that this research on the quality of life of household members who care for people with disabilities will not only contribute to the literature, but also be a guide for social policy makers.
