Research in behavioral finance the concept of rational investor unlike, it is emphasized that investors are not rational. When the psychological and emotional elements of the investors are taken together with the demographic factors, errors and biases can be seen. By determining the errors and biases made in the financial markets, individual investors can become aware of these errors and not to repeat them. In this study, it is aimed to investigate whether the behavioral tendencies which direct individual investors to financial investment decision and shape their decisions have a significant effect on portfolio return. At the same time, the behavioral tendencies of the people who make transactions in the financial markets are examined and it is determined whether there is a difference between the various groups. In this research in this direction a basic scale that directs investors to financial investment decisions and measures the trends shaping their decisions has been prepared by adapting from various sources. Survey gender, marital status, education level, occupation, demographic characteristics such as income level and time to invest in financial markets, size of investment portfolio, financial education such as with a history of financial questions it aimed to examine whether the financial investment in the investor varies according to behavioral tendencies. The scale was applied to 307 individual investors in Turkey. Data were analyzed using Independent Samples T-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Analysis, Regression Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. As a result of the research, it is seen that there is not a statistically significant effect of individual investors' tendency to draw attention to their favorable tendencies affecting financial investment decisions, mental accounting and representational bias tendencies on portfolio return rate in the last one year but it is found out that self-confidence and over-optimism behavior tendency has a statistically significant effecton portfolio return rate.
