Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the protective effects of hesperetin against bisphenol A toxicity in rats were investigated. Four groups were formed in the study. These groups are the Control group (C), Hesperetin group (H), Bisphenol A group (B), and Hesperetin+Bisphenol A (HB) group. Hesperetin 75 mg/kg and Bisphenol A 25 mg/kg were administered every other day. MDA, GSH, AChE, GST, CaE, some minerals, and fatty acid levels were determined in the liver tissues of rats. MDA level in group B increased compared to group K. MDA level in group HB decreased compared to group B. GSH level in group B decreased compared to group K. GR enzyme activity in group B decreased compared to group K. CaE and GST enzyme activity levels in group B increased compared to group K. CaE and GST enzyme activity levels in group HB decreased compared to group B. AChE enzyme activity level in group B increased compared to group K. AChE enzyme activity level in group HB increased compared to group B. Fe levels in group B decreased compared to group K. 16:0, 18:0, and ΣSFA levels in group B increased compared to group K. 18:2n6c and 20:4n6 levels in group B decreased compared to group K. 18:2n6c levels in group HB increased compared to group B. ΣPUFA and ΣSFA levels in group B decreased compared to group K. In conclusion, we believe that hesperetin has protective effects on rat liver tissues against the toxicity and oxidative stress caused by bisphenol A.
