Abstract (EN)

This study includes the scope of sports technologies that emerged with the combination of sports and engineering disciplines. Sports technologies graduate programme is a new interdisciplinary field of study in our country. In this context, a study that brings together sports and mechanical engineering disciplines has been carried out in our country. Thanks to such an interdisciplinary skill, it was aimed to make progress in the field of sports technologies. In engineering, different branches develop and engineers specialize, so that the basic requirements arising in a particular field are handled by expert individuals. Thus, the use of new techniques can improve research in the relevant field. Exergy is a subject that has been examined in this sense and energy is frequently mentioned in sports, but exergy (work potential, useful work) is relatively less examined. In this study, the effect of the improved design of the frame on the rider's energy-exergy changes was determined for physical conditions. It has been observed that a change of 1 [kg] in the bicycle frame creates an energy difference of 6 [J/min] and a useful work potential. It was aimed to ensure the efficient use of energy, which is very important for the individual and the athlete. This study will be a pioneer in terms of being an example and model for the little known and examined parts of mechanical engineering and sports technologies in the future and will contribute to the field of sports.
