Structural analysis of historical mosques in Bitlis provincial center

Transferring the cultural and historical heritage to the next generations is one of the issues that connects the past and the future of mankind and constantly attracts the attention of the academia. In this thesis, the registered mosques were taken into account in the city centre of Bitlis, where many different civilizations reign and which is in an important strategic position. Information about registered mosques in the city centre of Bitlis and information about the intervention stages to registered works are given. The structural deterioration and damage in the mosques were determined based on observation and solutions were presented by considering the current situation for each mosque. The damage assessment of mosques was made and damage forms were created based on observation. For a mosque selected as an example, a building modelling was carried out using the finite element technique. Period, displacement and stress values were obtained by using macro modelling technique in the structural analysis. In the study, it was also tried to determine risk priorities by using the rapid assessment method for the mosques considered.
