Abstract (EN)

Groundwater is used as a source of drinking water by 1.5 billion people around the world. Since these resources are generally used for humanitarian activities such as drinking water, utility water an dirrigation water, it is important that they are good in quality. Within the scope of this study, periodic examinations were carried out between June 2019 and September 2019 in order to evaluate the groundwater (YAS) in terms of water quality parameters in Bitlis Province and its districts. In the water samples obtained as a result of the investigations; temperature, pH, electrical conductivity (EC) parameter values were measured in-situ. Other remaining parameters; Anions and cations such as Ca+2, Mg+2, Na+, K+ chloride (Cl-), sulphate (SO4-2), bicarbonate alkalinity (HCO3-) were measured in the laboratory. As a result; the temperature has generally remain edapproximately the same value in all sampling points and when the SKKY (2004) limit values are taken as basis, it shows the characteristics of first class water quality. The EC value was higher in only 3 of the sampling points in the region, and according to TS266 (2005), the B7, B21 and B29 points were not suitable for human consumption, while all other points were found suitable for human consumption. Chloride rising at some points may be attributed to volcanic rocks. Ca+2, Mg+2, Na+, K+ values were found to show the same change with the measured EC value.
