Abstract (EN)
This study is based on 21 bat specimens obtained from the Bitlis province between July 2014 and August 2018. Bat samples were collected in caves, empty buildings, historical inns and Turkish baths, churches, tombs, roofs of buildings and similar places with the help of atrap, special bat nets, gloves and hand light. The material obtained is kept in the Biology Department Zoology Laboratory of Bitlis University Faculty of Sciences and Art. Characteristics of species, habitat characteristics, fur color, measurements, sample numbers and recording places are given. Rhinolophus hipposideros, Myotis myotis, M. blythii, M. mystacinus, Pipistrellus kuhlii, Eptesicus serotinus, Vespertilio murinus and Plecotus macrobullaris species belonging to Rhinolophidae and Vespertilionidae families of Microchiroptera suborder were determined as a result of the field studies. Rhinolophus hipposideros, Myotis myotis, Pipistrellus kuhlii, Eptesicus serotinus, Vespertilio murinus and Plecotus macrobullaris bat species are new records for Bitlis province.
