Abstract (EN)

In this study, we aimed to determine the amphibian species distributed in Bitlis province (Turkey), as well the major factors threatening the species and to determine the precaution against these factors. 13-day field study carried out within the Project betweenMay 2015 and June 2016. Field studies have been completed by performing at least one field study in each of the 1/25000 scaled 56 sheets, covering the whole of the province. As a result, we recorded 5 anurans (Bufotes variabilis, Pelophylax ridibundus, Ranamacrocnemis, Hyla savignyi) and 2 salamandrian (Neurergus strauchii, Salamandra infraimmaculata) species in Bitlis province, which is totally 6 amphibians. One of this species Neurergus strauchii (Anatolian (Strauch's) Spotted Newt) endemic to our country and Green Frog Hyla savignyi first time recorded in Bitlis Provice.Withthis study, amphibian species of Bitlis have been identified and some biological and ecological characteristics of the species were determined. In addition, the threats and precaution that affects some species were determined thereby the study contributed to the identification and protection of the biodiversity of our country.
