Abstract (EN)

To prevent the emission of greenhouse gases, the use of fossil fuels should be reduced. The most effective role in reducing the supply of fossil energy sources is the increase in the use of alternative energy sources. Therefore, electricity production with alternative energy sources is increasing every year. Fossil fuels are used in the industry and transportation sectors because they have high energy potential. Hydrogen is a clean energy source that can replace fossil fuels in the industry and transportation sectors. Hydrogen production can be achieved with different energy sources. Currently, hydrogen production mostly relies on fossil fuels, leading to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. It is extremely important for hydrogen to be produced with alternative energy sources. In Turkey, there is a high potential for hydrogen production with alternative energy sources. In this study, the feasibility of a biomass gasification system with a green hydrogen production capacity of 1500 kg/day has been realized. The Bandırma, which has high potential in terms of alternative energy sources, has been selected as the pilot region. Additionally, the effect of the biomass gasification system's electricity demand on the cost of hydrogen production has been investigated under the conditions of biogas cogeneration system , wind turbine, solar system or obtaining electricity from the grid.
