Abstract (EN)
In this study, activated carbon was produced from Elaeagnus and Phoenix dactylifera seeds which are used as biomass sources by chemical activation and pyrolysis method. Slow pyrolysis experiments were carried out in a fixed bed reactor using an inert nitrogen atmosphere, at 500oC, 600oC, 700oC with 1/1wt and 2/1wt KOH impregnation rates and 48 hours of impregnation time. The activated carbons obtained were characterized by BET analysis. It has been observed that activated carbons impregnated at 1/1 and 2/1 ratio by mass and processed at 700oC had the high surface areas. These activated carbons were used as catalyst support materials. 20% and 40% by mass of 12-tungstophosphoric acid cesium salt (Cs/ TPA) were loaded on the activated carbon as a support material. The characterization of loaded activated carbons with Cs/ TPA was carried out by BET, SEM, SEM-EDX, XRD, FT-IR, pyridine FT-IR analyzes. As a result, it was seen that Cs/ TPA was adsorbed by the activated carbon. As a result of the study, it can be concluded that activated carbons with high surface area can be produced from the biomass source and these activated carbons can be successfully used as catalyst support materials.
