Abstract (EN)
Objective: In throat infections, rapid and accurate identification of viral or bacterial separation of infection is important for treatment. In this study, Strep-A rapid diagnosis kits of 215 patients who were sent to Adıyaman University Training and Research Hospital to the Medical Microbiology culture laboratory that applied to infection polyclinics with sore throat and whose culture antibiogram and Strep-A rapid diagnosis tests were made were determined and the type of infection was determined directly. In treatment, it was aimed to prevent unnecessary use of antibiotics. Method: Throat culture and Strep-A rapid diagnostic kit were used in our study. Two separate throat swabs were taken simultaneously from 215 patients who came to the laboratory. The first swab was used for rapid diagnosis test and the second swab was used for throat culture. Results: Of the 215 patients included in the study, 110 (51%) were male, 105 (49%) were female, the youngest age was 3, the oldest was 92, and the mean age was 34.5. According to the results of the culture antibiogram test, 196 (91.2%) of 215 patients included normal throat flora, 13 (6.1%) Streptococcus pyogenes and the remaining 6 had Staphylococcus aureus in 3 (1.3%) of their throats. there was culture (methicin sensitive), Esherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Candida albicans were detected in each. Conclusion: A significant difference between the source diagnostic test and culture obtained during the study period, the rapid positive predictive value was 85.71%; It was determined that the negative predictive value was 99.5%, specificity was 99.01%, and the raft was 92.31% defrauded 98.6%.
