Abstract (EN)

The differences in interregional development that started in the early years of the industrial revolution and have lasted until today have been one of the primary issues that countries have aimed to reduce with a number of policies. As one of these policies, transportation investment decisions stand out due to their guiding effect on development in the recent period. In this direction, by considering the economic dimension of transportation investments as well as the social and physical dimensions in a holistic manner with an original point of view; it is aimed to question the impact of regional development on economic, demographic, socio-cultural, innovative and environmental building dynamics with a methodological approach. According to the spatial analyses in which the regional distribution of transportation investments was revealed, it was found that the investment costs differed within the framework of three separate elements: regional geographical characteristics, road design standard and the influence of physical size factors. In line with the empirical results obtained by panel data analysis, in which the relationship of transportation structure to regional development dynamics was questioned, it was also seen that the impact of social and physical aspects of transportation on regional dynamics has become different.
